They Knew Not of This Love

From Jesus, in The Gospel of God’s Love, page 202.

“Let me write a few lines regarding the Celestial Kingdom and God’s plan of salvation for humankind.

“The Bible contains many sayings attributed to me in reference to this plan, but many of these alleged sayings are not true; for I never said them, and they are contrary to what I received from the Father as to the true plan of humans redemption from sin, and as to the only way by which they can obtain the true at-onement with the Father and a knowledge of their own immortality.

“Many of these sayings were written by those who knew not the way to at-onement with the Father, and were based upon the existing teachings of Jewish Scripture. These people made me out to say those things that agreed with their ideas of what was necessary to the salvation of mortals, confusing the truths that I taught with what they believed to be the truth, as contained in the Old Testament. Much harm has been done by attributing many of these sayings to me, because of the supposed authority that is thereby attached to them.

“My disciples never taught and never understood that their salvation, or anyone elses, depended upon faith in me as the “son of God,” or that I, the man Jesus, had in me any virtue to forgive sin, or to insure an entrance into the true Kingdom of God, or that I was the “son of God” in the sense that the Bible teaches.

“They knew that the Father had revealed to me the truth, and that I had in me that Love which to a large extent made me like unto and at-one with the Father; that my teachings of the rebestowal of the divine-love was true; and that when they, or any person, should possess this Love, to the extent of that possession, they would become at-one with the Father, and also with me, who possessed it to a greater degree than any other person.

“I say they knew this, and taught it to the people as I had taught it to them; but when the compilers of the present New Testament came to declare my sayings, they knew not of this Love, and hence could not understand what many of my true expressions meant, and gave them an interpretation that would comply with their existing beliefs.” To be contiued…

The Blood Redemption (cont.)

This message is from Luke:

“…I am interested in what you received from Luther tonight; as I am supposed to have written the Gospel of Luke, I desire to say a few things in reference to the incorrectness of many things contained in my gospel. As you infer, I am Saint Luke, the writer of the third gospel and a follower of Jesus.

“My gospel was not founded on anything I had personal knowledge of, but upon the writings of others, and traditions which were common knowledge of many Christians at that time. I knew several of the apostles and obtained some of my information from them, as well as from the Christians who were members of the congregations where these apostles preached and expounded the sayings of Jesus.

“In my gospel, as now contained in the Bible, many things have been interpolated. This gospel, as it now exists, is not based on what I wrote, but upon pretended copies of my writings. The persons who made these copies did not follow my writings literally, but added to my texts and gave their own interpretations to what I had written in such a way as to destroy the true meaning of what was intended to be conveyed in my writings.

“There are many truths contained in my gospel, and they are truths of God, but there are also many errors which contradict these truths. For instance, I never wrote that Jesus commanded his disciples to believe that the wine was his blood or the bread his body, and so to eat and drink these things in remembrance of him. How this interpolation could have been made, I do not know; but I will observe that the same things are said in all the four gospels, and so these sayings must have been derived from a common source – and that the minds of those who pretended to copy the gospels.

“I tell you now that this saying – that the blood of Jesus saves from sin – is not true. And if humans depend upon this blood for their salvation, they will never be saved, but will enter the spirit world in all their sins, and will be surprised to learn that Jesus is not waiting to receive them into his arms and carry them to the mansions prepared for the truly redeemed children of God.” Amen

The Blood Redemption

From Martin Luther, in The Gospel of God’s Love, page 238 – 9.

“I want to tell you that I was with you this afternoon when you were reading comments on the origins and different versions of the Bible. Among them was a reference to my version, and I want to say that my version was a pretty correct translation, yet the manuscript and other versions upon which I based my translation were not the real writings of those who profess to have written them. I mean that those manuscripts were not true copies of the original epistles and books written by those whose names they bear. Many more interpretations and constructions were given to the texts of the originals than you or any other mortal are aware of.

“The Bible as now written is full of contradictions and errors, and makes the truth hard to ascertain. Take for instance that one subject of the blood redemption. No greater error was ever written than that the blood of Jesus saves from sin, or that his blood washes away sin. It seems to me now so absurd that I wonder how I could ever have believed in such a thing. I know now that there is no efficacy in Jesus’ blood to accomplish any such results, and the pity is that many mortals now believe this, and as a consequence, neglect the one vital and important requirement necessary to salvation – that is the new-birth. This and this only saves mortals from their sins, and fits them to enter the Kingdom of God, which is the Kingdom where Jesus is prince, and the ruler thereof.

(Mr. Padgett asked a question) “Jesus never said such a thing, for he has told me so. This saying – that his blood was shed for many – is not true, and he never said it. Neither did he say “drink the wine” in remembrance of him, for the wine is not his blood, and neither does it represent anything that has to do with him or his mission on earth, or his present work in the spirit world. How unfortunate this saying is made to represent something he said, when he did not say it.

“In order to understand the real truths of God and human’s relationship to Him, you must believe what the Master and the apostles shall write to you, for they now understand what his true mission was, and what he taught.” Amen

The “Spirit” of God, Part 2

A message in The Gospel of God’s Love, continued from Jesus, on pages 255-6:

“All things, mediately or immediately, have their existence, operation and growth in the “spirit of God,” and this spirit is evidenced in many and varied ways in the mortal experience. And hence, people who say that they “live and move and have their being in God”- it only means that they live, move and have their being in God’s spirit. This spirit is the source of life, of light and health and numerous other blessings that humans possess and enjoy – the sinner as well as the saint, the poor as well as the rich, the ignorant as well as the enlightened and educated – each and all are dependent on this spirit for their being and comfort.

“This is the spirit that all mortals possess to a greater or lesser degree; and the brilliant preacher or teacher or orator, possessing this spirit to a greater degree than their less favored brethren, depend upon the same spirit. It is universal in its existence and its workings, is omnipresent, and may be acquired by all mortals to the degree that their receptivity permits. And this further demonstrates the fact that God, through and by this spirit, is with humans always in the lowest hells, as well as in the highest heavens of the perfect humans. It is working continuously, ceaselessly, and always at the call of mortals, be that call mental or spiritual. It is the thing that controls the universe, of which the earth is an infinitesimal part. This is the “spirit” of God.

“But the Holy-Spirit, while a part of the spirit of God, yet is as distinctive as is the soul of mortals distinctive from all other creations of God. It is that part of God’s spirit that has to do with the relationship of God’s Soul and a human’s soul, exclusively. The subject of its operation is the Divine-Love of the Father’s Soul, and the object of its workings is the prayerful soul of  mortals, and the great goal to be reached by its operation is the transformation of the soul of the mortal into the Substance of the Father’s Love, with Immortality as a necessary accompaniment. This is the great miracle of the universe, and so high and sacred and merciful is this transformation of human souls, that we call the part of God’s spirit that so works, the Holy Spirit.” Amen

The “Spirit” of God

I was looking thought the book, The Gospel of God’s Love, and read some of the message titled, The “Spirit” of God, and thought I had created a Blog from it previously. I wasn’t able to find a file-card with that title, so I decided I’d be able to find spiritual information in it that would be helpful for prayerful souls seeking truth.

“Just because humans are possessed with powers to accomplish material things, they are not necessarily possessed with the “holy spirit.” Much of the physical healing of mortals is caused by powers bestowed upon them that are not connected with or proceeding from the holy-spirit. There is evidence of this because the Old Testament is full of instances of healings and wonders performed, at that time before the potential to receive divine-love had been restored to the souls of humankind.”

And here, I will explain again that the only function of the “holy spirit” is to deliver God’s Gift of Grace to the souls of the prayerful; those who are longing to become at-One with their Creator, or desiring to be born-again in Love; and praying to activate the innate potential of their soul, to receive God’s greatest Gift – Divine Love.

Jesus continues: “I understand the object of the preacher in attempting to show and convince his hearers that because they have not those powers, that the Bible describes as having been possessed by my disciples after the bestowal of the holy-spirit, that therefore they must not believe and conclude that they have not this blessing. His intentions and efforts were commendable, and arose from the desire that his hearers should not become disheartened and disappointed in their efforts to obtain the inflowing of the Love that the holy-spirit brings to mortals. But on the other hand, his teachings were dangerous and misleading to the hearers, for the natural consequence of such teaching is to lead mortals to the belief or persuasion that they possess this power and the “comforter” when they do not, and thus prevent them from seeking for and obtaining this “soul transformation” in the only way it can be obtained.

“The holy-spirit primarily has nothing to do with great mental or physical achievements, and so no one can say that because a person is a great inventor or philosopher or surgeon, who does things without knowing where the inspiration comes from, is possessed of the holy-spirit.” To be continued…

The Nominal Christian

From John, in The Gospel of God’s Love, page 320.

“I come tonight to tell you that your condition of soul is much better than it has been for some time. You are more in unison with the Father’s Love, and you realize that the Love is working in your soul and making you Happy.

“I have been with you today as you copied the messages, and saw that you enjoyed the truths that they contained. I also see that you have been thinking about your future on earth, in carrying forward the work that you have been selected to do; I am glad that this work is becoming to you a matter of such importance and seriousness. For important it is, not only to you, but to the world – and this you must realize when you consider what was told you a few nights ago: that there is no one else in all the world at this time who is in a position to do the work which you are now doing, and which you must continue to do during the whole time of your stay on earth. As you progress in this work, and as these truths come to you, and your soul becomes more filled with the Love, you will to a greater degree understand importance of the work.

“I am with you a great deal, trying to help you develop your soul; for as this develops, you will be  better able to receive our truths, so they may be transmitted to the world, so humans  may learn the only way to God’s Kingdom of Love and immortality.

“Doubts as to the teachings of the Christian churches are now permeating the minds of many of their members. Many of these are only nominal Christians – their perception of God is blunted, and they attend worship only because of their sense of duty, and the feeling that it’s right for them to do so. They know nothing of the divine-love of the Father’s nature, and of His plan for their salvation. Their prayers and worship are mostly only those which come from the lips, or from a kind of blind intellectual belief. Their soul longings do not enter into their prayers, and as a consequence their petitions for God’s love and mercy go no higher than their heads, as has been said.” Amen

Jesus Still Prays

From Ann Rollins, in The Gospel of God’s Love, pages 485-6.

“Let me write a few lines tonight, as I have been listening  to your conversation with some interest, and desire to say a few words that may encourage you both to press forward to the goal which you have before you – a home in the Celestial Heavens and the acquirement of a nature divine. You will not be disappointed in your efforts; for when you long for the Love and receive portions of it, every experience of that kind will help you to get even more, by creating in you an increased desire for it.

“You must never think that you have obtained this Love in its “fullness,” permitting your longings to decrease after you feel that the Love has come to you in abundance, for I must tell you that we in the Celestial Heavens know and realize that there is always more, beyond what we have obtained. Even the Master prays to the Father for an increase of this Love in his soul – and if you could see the evidence of the Love that he possesses as we see it, you would probably think that nothing more could be obtained, or at least that no greater amount was needed.

“This fact of the endlessness of the Love is that which keeps us always striving for more; because as we recognize how each successive stage of our progress has brought us greater and greater happiness, we know – I say know – that what is beyond must mean an even greater happiness, and a nearer approach to the Father Himself. So I say, let not your strivings in the slightest particular decrease, and you will find that increased happiness will be yours.

“I will stop now, with my love to you both,* will say goodnight.     Your loving grandmother, Ann Rollins”

(*Dear Dr. Leslie R. Stone sat with James Padgett while he was receiving messages from the Celestial Spirits; and also when he allowed the lower spirits to write, so he could help them learn about God’s Love, mercy and forgiveness. After Mr. Padgett died, Dr. Stone worked tirelessly on transcribing the automatic writings so they could be published. The first publication was in 1940, and I believe its title was, Book of Truths. Now there are many Editions with different titles. We are fortunate to have access to these writings from the angel’s that show humankind the Way to progress toward the Celestial Heavens.)

The Way to the Higher Kingdom

This message from Jesus, in The Gospel of God’s Love, had more to say about how to prepare oneself for an entrance into the Higher Heavens. One of the reasons the original teachings were lost, was because the people needed to be taught how to purify their natural love before they could begin to understand the higher truths. “The mind is to things material, what the soul is to things spiritual.”

Since the teachings of how to purify the natural love, and those of how to receive God’s Grace, and commence the development of their divine potential, were being taught simultaneously, it is understandable how these teachings could be commingled. This is how the idea that living a good moral life would fit the person for an entrance into the divine realms.

Starting now, people can learn how to prepare themselves for an entrance into the Celestial Spheres, if they want to know the Way. It takes a different method or process, than living a virtuous life, and the doing of good deeds. But the good news is that when we prepare ourselves for a home in the Higher Heavens, we become pure and virtuous, because “the first divine-love received by a soul purifies its natural love.”

I realize that the people who copied Jesus’ teachings, may have done their best to grasp the important information to pass on to others. But in order to understand spiritual concepts the soul needs to become developed in God’s divine-love. “Humility is the touchstone for an entrance into the Celestial Kingdom.”

It seems that one can purify their natural love without prayers to a Higher Power; but they cannot develop the highest potential of their soul without Prayers to God for the Gift of Divine Grace. Pray to know the truth; pray to do God’s Will in your life; Desire to develop the highest potential of your soul, and you will embark on the pathway toward the Divine Kingdom.

Be patient with yourself; all truths cannot be learned in a short time. And they cannot be learned at all unless you receive divine-love into your soul through earnest and prolonged prayers for its inflowing. The angels tell us to Pray for the Love, and have Faith that you will receive it.

We have no conception of how much the Heavenly Father loves his children; because our grasp of spiritual concepts is limited. Keep praying and never give up. Amen

The Way to the Kingdom, Part 2

Message from Jesus, in The Gospel of God’s Love, on page 278.

“I have tried to explain to you why the great and important truth of my mission on earth, as I explained it to my apostles, and was taught by them and written by them, was not preserved and contained in the Bible, as it is now written and accepted by the church as canonical. The great desire in those days was to show and impress upon humans those teachings which affected their conduct on earth, and to hold out to them the rewards, both on earth and in the spirit world, that would follow from such living. And, as I have said, the leading of lives in accordance with these teachings would insure humans a great happiness in the spirit world – but not the happiness which my teachings, if observed, would lead to.

“In the various copyings and compilations of the writings of the apostles, many changes from the originals were made, and those dignitaries and rulers of the church who performed this work did not know the difference between those things which would bring about a purification of the natural love, and those things which were necessaary to fit a soul for entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven. And hence they made the error of teaching that the living of a moral life would entitle the soul to a reward in the hereafter which they supposed would be the Kingdom of Heaven and immortality. This erroneous teaching has prevented many a person from gaining entrance into the Higher Kingdom, as they honestly and sincerely believed would be theirs when they passed into the spirit world.

“These moral teachings were intended to make a reformation in the lives of mortals, and to purge their souls of sin and error, and I did teach these moral truths extensively, because of the great need for such teaching. Mortals’ wills were out of harmony with God’s laws which affected the natural love; as well as out of harmony with the laws affecting the divine-love; and it is the object and plan of God to bring humans into harmony with both of these loves, and thereby enable them to enjoy all the blessings which are provided and waiting for them.

“As I said on earth, “Narrow is the way and strait is the gate which leads to life everlasting, and few there be that enter therein.” Amen

The Way to the Celestial Kingdom

From Jesus, in The Gospel of God’s Love, page 277.

“I come to tell you a truth which is important to all humankind, and which I desire you to receive just as I write it; so give your best care to receive what I desire to write.

“I have read with you sayings contained in the alleged epistles of Paul and Peter, and I realize they are not consistent with the truth that has been declared to you by myself and the apostles who have written. I desire that you shall understand some of these inconsistencies, and discard from your mind these sayings of the epistles wherever they do not agree with what we have written or shall write to you.

“In the first place, the continual reference in these epistles to my being God is untrue and must not be believed – and also the statements that my blood washes away sin, or that I died on the cross for the salvation of humans, or took upon myself the sins of humankind and thereby relieved them from the burden and consequences of their sins. And when it is said that from the beginning the Father had foreordained my death on the cross so that humans might be redeemed from the penalties of sin, this is completely untrue, and has no foundation in fact or in the plan of God for the salvation of humankind. Neither Paul or Peter wrote these things, and never did I teach them, for they are not in accord with the great plan of salvation which I came to declare.

“In these epistles, too much emphasis is given to the importance of “faith” and works – and here by “faith” I mean the belief which the epistles taught – and not enough to the foundation of human’s redemption from sin and becoming reconciled to the Father through the new-birth. Many of their teachings about the conduct of humans towards fellow humans are true, and are as applicable to the conduct of mortals today as they were in the days in which the apostles taught. But when the epistles teach or lead humans to believe that these “moral principles” will, by their observance, enable a human to enter the Kingdom of God, they are false and misleading. Humans must understand and appreciate the difference between that which comes from leading a good moral life, and the results which come from the new-birth of soul.” To be continued…
