In my humble opinion, what people generally think of as “heaven,” I would describe as higher levels of the spirit world. The Ethereal World is located from earth plane, outward for an extremely long distance. The angels tell us that a majority of souls “passing-over” into the spirit world at this time, enter into the dark planes. This is in accord with God’s perfect laws, and the result of these souls having lived their life out-of-harmony with love.

Professor Salyards, in The Gospel of God’s Love, page 382. “When a person first comes into spirit life, in many instances, it requires quite a long time for the spirit to realize that it isn’t still living on earth. While in other cases there’s an immediate understanding of its condition and surroundings. I attribute the first mentioned condition to be due to the fact that, when on earth, the mortal had no definite belief as to what the future might hold, and in many instances believed that the soul went into the grave with the body to await the great resurrection day. Some of your religious denominations are teaching that doctrine now, and the consequences will be that all those who believe that doctrine will experience the condition of darkness and want of knowledge that I have spoken of.

“The second class of spirits, or those who appear to realize immediately that they have passed from earth to spirit life, when leaving their body, are those who believed that they pass right away into the heavenly spheres, or the opposite, the dark planes. As soon as these spirits realize that they are no longer of earth, they commence to inquire as to where they are. Many of them are disappointed to not be realizing their expectations which they had while on earth.

“It is sometimes very difficult to convince them that there are no such places as the heavens and hells as taught by their churches. Some, on the other hand, do not seem to understand that they have left earth, because they say, “If we had left the earth life, we would know nothing” – quoting the Bible and some preachers; “The dead know nothing.”

Suggestion: To prepare yourself for your next phase of life, it’s a good idea “to desire to know the truth.” Pray for God’s Love and to come into alignment with God’s will, in time you will be able to understand Spiritual Truths. Amen

A former teacher of James Padgett’s, writes about his experience when he first arrived in the spirit world. The Gospel of God’s Love, on page 386.

“I want to first say, that no spirit by the mere fact of having made an advent into this world, has received much more knowledge of it than when they lived on earth. But as one continues to investigate these matters, they discover their capacity for learning increases. The spirit mind receives knowledge more readily than does the mortal mind. This is largely due to the fact that the physical brain is of a much inferior quality than the spirit brain.

“I am going through a course of study that will give me knowledge of these laws, so I might become a learned spirit. First of all I learned that humans continue to live in the spirit world without their flesh body. This great law, while you and others knew it as an established fact, to me was unknown as I never had any experience with spirit communication. I learned that it is one of God’s great truths, that it is fixed and never will change. Every person will survive so-called death. Another law I learned is that no person, by her own will power, can make her condition or location in the spirit world, just where she wants it to be.

“Spirits often think that all they have to do, to move from their current condition, is to  exercise their will power to do so. But this is not true, the law governing this matter is exact and never has any exceptions. Mortal or spirit can in a way determine what their destiny may be, but once fixed by this great power of will, which God has conferred upon his beloved children, they cannot change that condition until the law of compensation has been satisfied.

“Even then, the change cannot be brought about by the exercise of their will, but only by the operations of the law releasing them from memories which hold them in that condition. They have the idea that if they so choose to exercise their vaunted will power, they could relieve themselves of their darkenned condition and get into a happier one. But strangely, they never try this, and the reason is apparent: They could not if they tried, and will not try because they cannot. This law is as fixed as are all laws in this great universe of God.” Amen

Message from John, the Apostle, about the Preacher’s understanding of the book called “Revelations,” attributed to John. From The Gospel of God’s Love, page 305.

“I did write a book by that name, but not as contained in the Bible. In my time, and for a long time previous, Jewish writers, because of great troubles and the persecutions their nation was undergoing, were accustomed to write books in the nature of the one in the Bible (and they were also called ‘revelations’) for the purpose of encouraging the people to believe that all the wrongs they were suffering would be avenged by God, and their enemies made to suffer and become destroyed.

“These writings were accepted by the Jews as having the authority of Divine inspiration, conveying truth. The writings were always ascribed to some prophet, seer or man of God who had the special privilege of coming into contact with God through mysterious and sacred means of visions. These writings were intended to encourage the Jews to establish their faith in God and their belief that he would send them a messiah who would have the power to redeem them from persecution. Always these writings were prophetic, holding promises for the future, without ever attempting to fix a time for their fulfillment.

“So, as time went on, and the promises not fulfilled, hope continued to exist. The non-fulfillment was explained by further belief that the time had not yet arrived for their eagerly-wished-for expectations. This hope upon hope was a wonderful force in keeping up the beliefs and expectations of the Jews; and so effective was it that to this day, they remain in expectation of this coming messiah. But these prophecies, in the sense that the Jews understood them, have never been fulfilled, and neither will they be fulfilled in the future.

“This custom, as I may call it, contunued from these early times down to the time in which I lived and wrote. My book of prophesy was written , not with the purpose of establishing the Jews as a nation on earth, or causing them to believe that their hopes and longings would be fulfilled, but for the purpose of encouraging the Christians to believe that, notwithstanding their persecution and suffering and martyrdom, they would in the future life (when they would meet the Master and other angels) find joy and peace in heaven.” Amen

From Luke, in The Gospel of God’s Love, page 311.

According to messages from Angels, they can see that some people believe the great millennium will come before or after the so-called “second coming” of Jesus. But the major error in this belief is that Jesus has already come, by way of delivering his teachings again through messages from God’s redeemed children. These same souls who were with Jesus on earth, when he was announcing the rebestowal of God’s Divine Grace, are now in the Celestial Heavens with him. The early Christians, who were followers of Jesus’ teachings, and Jesus himself, have been striving to influence human beings on earth about the most important aspect of Jesus’ Mission on earth – to pray for God’s Substance of Love to transform their souls into angelic beings.

There is no personal ‘devil’ in the sense of satanic majesty, but there are evil spirits which abound in the unseen world. These are constantly exercising their influence upon mortals, but they are merely spirits of departed mortals, who retain their evil thoughts and desires, and enjoy encouraging mortals to act upon their promptings. Sin is wholly the result of the wrongful exercise of human’s appetites and will, where the desires of the flesh are permitted to overcome their spiritual desires.

When the cause of the current condition of humankind is determined, it will become apparent what is necessary to change the condition and remove the cause. The cause is two-fold: one arising from the fall from perfection at creation, by permitting the animal nature to subordinate the spiritual, and thereby their appetites grew and made them into lovers of sin; and the other arising from the spirits of evil, who are always exercising their influence upon earthlings.

As a preliminary to ushering in the greatly desired time of peace and purity, humans must cease to believe that it will result from the coming of Jesus in a manifested way – this will never be, for no person is an enemy of Jesus, all are his brothers and sisters. The soul is the person, and that soul can be made pure and sinless only when that soul desires and consents that such a condition becomes their own. The belief in Jesus coming to establish peace, is delaying the event. If they think that they only need to believe and wait – they would not be in condition to enjoy a place of purity and freedom from sin. Amen

Message from Jesus, in The Gospel of God’s Love, page 285.

“Judgment of the human soul is an important accompaniment of human life, both in their flesh bodies and in the spirit world. As regards its rewards and punishments, hardly anything demands more thought and consideration of mortal man, because of its certainty that he cannot avoid them. Judgment as certainly follows death as does night the day, and no philosophy, theological dogma or scientific determination can alter that fact, or in any way change the exact workings of this judgment.

“But judgment is not a thing belonging exclusively to the after-death period, for it is present and operating with men and women from the time they become incarnate in the human form, until they become discarnate; and thereafter continuously until the cause of effects have been satisfied, and there remains nothing to be judged – which happy ending is also a fact. For all humans are destined to progress to a condition of harmony with the laws that make effective these judgments.

“These laws operate, and continuously humans are being “judged” for the causes that one starts into existence, and the after-death judgment is only a continuation of what started when the soul was in the flesh. Of course, these judgments become more intensified when souls go into their spirit life, because one must try to realize that the expression “After death, the Judgment” has a greater significance and has more vital importance than saying that judgment is with everyone throughout their mortal lives.

“God is never an angry God, rejoicing in the satisfaction of a penalty being paid by one of his erring children, but always a loving Father, rejoicing in the redemption of his children from the suffering that a violation of the law of harmony exacts with certitude. Human beings are their own bookkeepers and in their memory is recorded all the thoughts and deeds of their earth life that are not in accord with the harmony of God’s will. The judgment is not a thing of a day or a time, but is neverceasing, so long as there exists that upon which it can operate. It deminishes in proportion as the causes for the inharmony disappear. Judgment day is every day, where the law of  compensation is working. “As a soul soweth, so shall it also reap,” is as true as the fact that the sun shines on the just and the unjust alike.” Amen

Continuation of previous message from Ann Rollns, published in The Gospel of God’s Love, on pages 400 – 406.

“In contrast to the Second, Fourth and Sixth Spheres, the Third, Fifth and Seventh are appropriated for spirits who are seeking the development of their souls in Divine Love. The spirits in these spheres are just as highly developed in their mental and moral qualities as are those in the spheres previously described; for with soul development in Divine Love comes mental and moral development as well.

“But this development of the mind is not the chief thing for which these spirits seek. Every desire and aspiration they have is suborinated to their effort to obtain divine love to the greatest degree. And they have never reached a limit to their progress, in contrast to those who seek the natural love and mental development.

“These spirits frequently make their start by recollections of when they were taught and believed that God loves them. You see here illustrated the saying, “Except ye become as little children, ye can in no wise enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” But many of these spirits have no childhood recollections of this kind, then comes the work of the higher spirits, who have received God’s Love, to help them learn how to progress.

“In all this you can see how God respects the independent will of his children. No one is forced to seek His Love, but He waits until they learn that what they thought was sufficient for their happiness is not; and realizing this insufficiency they become dissatisfied. Then with such dissatisfaction comes the wish to learn the great unknown of desire, which at last causes them to feel their dependence upon a Source of happiness not emanating from themselves.

“I have in my imperfect way attempted to give you a description of the several spheres, and of their character and purpose. You may believe what I’ve told you, for it is true. You will see the great advantage in striving to enter the spheres of the soul, leading to the Divine Heavens. You will not only gain soul development, but mental and moral development as well. Then you shall understand the saying, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

“I have written a long letter and must stop. So with all the love of a devoted grandmother, I will say, goodnight, Ann Rollins”

Message from James Padgett’s grandmother, Ann Rollins, published in The Gospel of God’s Love, page 402.

“When a spirit enters the spirit world, its condition determins where it shall first abide. In a large majority of cases, the first home of the spirit is in the earth plane, or lower levels of the First Sphere. It’s condition is not much different from what it was on earth – the same ideas of right and wrong, beliefs and desires, prevail.

“Sometimes this condition will last for many years, then again, a change can come comparatively soon. Their change of condition depends frequently upon the friends or relatives who try to help instruct the newly arrived spirit. If these helpers are developed in intellectual pursuits, they will tend to direct the spirit along those lines. Similarly with the morally developed helper and, those who have received the Love of God into their souls.

“But more depends upon the spirit itself; its condition upon arrival here brings with it all its beliefs, desires and affections, and these determine the direction of its progress. It is easier to influence a spirit to pursue a spiritual path when that spirit, while on earth, had an awakening to the love of God, even to a smal degree. The same principle applies to every condition of the spirit.

“Such spirit, following the natural inclination of its condition, will endeavor to get into that sphere where the greatest opportunities for developing its interests are located. This is in accordance with spiritual laws. God has provided these several spheres, qualifying them for the purpose of their creation. All spirits have a choice which path to follow; there are several planes in every field of interest, to provide opportunity for the spirit to progress into higher levels in their field of interest.

“The 2nd, 4th and 6th spheres are appropriated for spirits who desire to develop their mental and moral natures. Spirits must, of course, pass through the intervening spheres, but they don’t linger long in the 3rd or 5th sphere because the qualities which they are attempting to develop are not given much attention there. However, the fact of passing through the soul-spheres does not indicate that the spirit will receive any development of their soul qualities; for the contrary is true – a spirit in the Third Sphere possessing the Divine Love, has more soul development than one with developed intellect living in the Sixth Sphere, who doesn’t have this Love.” To be continued…

Message from John, the Apostle, in the Gospel of God’s Love, page 320.

“I am with you trying to help you develop your spiritual nature, so you’ll be better equiped to receive our truths. Then they may be transmitted to the waiting world, so humankind may learn the only way to God’s Kingdom of Love and Immortality.

“Doubts as to the teachings of Christianity are permeating the minds of many of their members. They are nominal Christians who know nothing of the Divine Nature of the Father and his plan for their salvation. Their perceptions of God are blunted and they tend to worship out of a sense of duty and feel that it’s the right thing for them to do. Their prayers are mostly those which come from their lips, or from a kind of blind intellectual belief. Their longings do not enter into their worship and, as a consequence, their petitions for God’s Love go no higher than their heads. They think that the blood of Jesus saves them from their sins; all Orthodox Christians are taught to believe this, but that does not make it a fact or a Truth.”

From a different message and a different Celestial Angel: “The regeneration of the human soul is caused more by quiet meditations on God’s Grace of Love and Mercy, and by the silent longings of the soul, rather than by the emotions which arise from the fervid and persuasive sermons of preacher or evengelist. These may arouse the dead soul to a realization of their need to reconcile with God, but so often these emotions do not bring the soul into rapport or unison with the Father, as do silent prayers and meditations.

“There must be sincere, soulful longings and aspirations for the Love of the Father. These longings do not generally arise from the emotions produced, especially if such emotions are of fear, created by picturing an angry or vengeful God. But notwithstanding their false beliefs, when these peoples’ prayers actually aspire for God’s Love, he knows the sincere longings of their hearts and his Holy Spirit conveys Divine Love to their souls, then they become at-One with him to the extent that they receive that Substance of Grace.

“Even though they have false beliefs, yet they are receiving God’s Saving Grace, which is working to redeem and transform them. Have Faith and Pray to progress spiritually, and you’ll be blessed with the saving Grace of God’s Love.” Amen

Message from Jesus, found in “The Gospel of God’s Love”, page 371, received on July 8, 1915, through James E. Padgett.

“I want to continue writing on the subject your grandmother was explaining, about the efforts of the spirit world to show humankind the Truths of the Father.

“I know that it will be difficult to help humankind believe in communications that may come through mediums, and that the churches will antagonize the reception of such, but I want to tell you that there will be such power exerted by the spirits of God’s Kingdom that no efforts on the parts of the antagonists or churches will be able to withstand the efforts of these spirits. Just as soon as mortals get into condition to receive these truths, they will be given all the power necessary, and the truths will come with such force and exactness that the erroneous beliefs will have to give way and let the truths that I speak of take their place.

“I know it will be difficult to get the human mind into condition to receive these communications, but it will be accomplished. Humanity is now longing for God’s Truths, and their longings must be satisfied. No longer will form or ceremony and mere declarations be sufficient. The mind’s credulity must be considered when the teachings of the churches are exposed to reason, as well as to the knowledge of spiritual laws which may be obtained. These souls will hunger and thirst for God’s Love and the way to obtain it must be satisfied.

“I know my Kingdom of Love will be established on earth in a fuller way than ever, and my teachings will be believed in with greater confidence, not as a god to be worshipped, but as a brother and friend, who is able to show the way to the Father’s Love and the soul’s salvation and immortality.

“It is important to develop good and righteous mediums to convey these great truths. Physical phenomena do not enlighten the soul as to its destiny and which road to follow to reach God’s Kingdom. I will try to influence many mortals to get into psychic condition so that they may receive these truths and thus do an important work for the redemption of humankind. Remain consistant in your work and increase your faith, there will soon be many who engage in the same work.

Excerpts from The Gospel of God’s Love, The Padgett Messages, on page 200. Received from John the Baptist.

“I come because I want to encourage you to pray more. The Father’s Love is waiting for you to fill your soul to its upmost, and the only thing required on your part is prayer and faith.

“We all are interested in you and want you to get into a condition that will enable you to continue receiving the Master’s messages; the time is ripe for them to be delivered to humankind, so they can begin their work of redeemng souls from their false beliefs and erroneous doctrines. I, John, tell you this, for I can see that human beings are longing for the truths of God – such truths as will remove from their spiritual beliefs all superstition and error; such truths as will accord with the reasoning of the people who are not biased by erroneous beliefs.

“These truths will be easier for the mere materialist to receive and understand than by those who are bound by the beliefs which the creeds and dogmas of the churches have inculcated. This revelation of God’s Gift of Love will be more easily accepted by those who have no preconceived ideas about God’s nature and relationship to his children, rather than the learned theologian, or the simple worshippers at the alters of churches who believe whatsoever may be told them by priest or preacher.

(Question asked about baptism) “Well, I have been interested in the great amount of discussion on that point and how the belief, one way or the other, has caused those calling themselves ‘Christians’ to form distinct sects. If they only knew that it does not make a particle of difference to their soul’s salvation whether Jesus was immersed or sprinkled, they would not let the bitter feelings to arise that frequently do in discussing this matter. As this water was merely symbolical of the washing away of sin and error, and did not actually accomplish that great necessity, it does not make any difference whether the recipient of baptism was immersed or sprinkled.

“It is strange that humans who profess to have received the forgiveness of their sins and have become reconciled to God, should let a trifling thing of this kind cause so much strife and bitter disputations.

“I will stop now. Your brother in the Christ Spirit, John the Baptist”
