Knowledge Is Limited by Progression

Message from Ann Rollins, James Padgett’s grandmother, published in The Gospel of God’s Love, pages 429 – 432.

“As you know, I am in the same sphere with Helen and your mother, and we are very often together, though we live in different homes. Soon I will leave them for a higher sphere, and they say that they will soon follow.

“Well, I want to tell you a little about the spirits in this sphere. All the spirits here have received and possess the great Love of the father. Mere intellectual acquirements are not sufficient to fit a spirit for this sphere. If a spirit realizes the gate is closed to them, it is because they have not this Love. But then, the great happiness that exists here could not be enjoyed by the mere mind, for the mind is limited in its capacity for happiness. I sometimes think that if mortals could be permitted, for only a moment, to realize what this happiness is, they wouldn’t let their lives slip by without making great effort to prepare themselves for these celestial spheres.

“Our time here is occupied in helping one another to learn more of the Father’s truths, and in helping spirits who live on lower planes. I do not come to the earth plane very often to help other spirits or mortals; but of course in your case I am so bound by my affections that I am with you quite often – and more so with that darling daughter of yours; for I am her guardian angel, and so long as she lives I will be with her to help and guide her.

“We are engaged in the study of things that pertain more to the spiritual things of life than to things of the other worlds of the universe. While a knowledge of these material things would be very interesting, yet our thoughts are turned to the more important truths of God.

“Yes, we all have our libraries and homes, as Helen has told you; but there is a difference in these homes, depending upon the amount of Love which spirits have in their soul.

“Do not believe everything in the book you’re reading just because it’s said to be written by spirits – because the information given depends upon the spirits’ condition; some may tell the exact truth as they conceive it to be, yet it  may not be true.” To be continued…
