From John the Apostle in, The Gospel of God’s Love, page 348.
“…How regettable it is that while humans may know – and I emphasize know – the Truth of immortality if they will only seek for it, yet they do not seek, athough it is open to discovery even without the information that our messages give you. This refers to the continuation of life after death. Of course, true Immortality can only be learned from the teachings of our communications.
“Continuation of life after death can become an established fact even to the satisfaction of the orthodox preachers who seek with an open mind, separated from beliefs that keep them from accepting as true any and every thing not contained in the Bible. It has been an established fact for a long time, antidating the Bible, that spirits communicate to mortals on earth. The Bible has many instances where such occurances were declared. But while these orthodox teachers accept all these instances as true, yet they say that they were caused by some ‘special interposition’ of God. But this same cause applies also to all the instances of spirit communication that have taken place since then.
“Laws – unchangable laws – govern all God’s universe, nothing happens by chance. Every instance of spirit communication is the result of a law of God’s working in an orderly manner. Faith and hope may become so strong as to satisfy their doubts on the question, but even then it is not knowledge. This faith and hope will fade into insignificance when a mother, mourning her recently departed son, hears his voice declaring that he is still alive, is with her, has all his love for her, and feels her love for him.
“But these teachers will not seek, or if they do, and feel their hope and faith turn to knowledge, they will not declare the truth to their flock. And why not? Because the creeds and dogmas and iron bands of erroneous belief forbid them doing so. They will preach freedom of press, and even lay down their lives for such cause; but when they come to deal with this question of supreme and vital fact, they are afraid to seek the truth, or in seeking and finding, to declare the freedom of their beliefs from the bondage of their creeds.
“What responsibility they have, and what an answer they will have to make! They bury the truth and their accounting will be grievous.” Amen
