Excerpts from a message by Luke, as appears in “The Gospel of God’s Love,” pg. 265.
“I want to tell you that the Love of which we have been writing is the only Love that can make a spirit or person in the flesh, at-One with the Heavenly Father, and this is my theme; The Atonement. I know that in various parts of the New Testament it is said that the blood of Jesus washes away all sin and that his death on the cross satisfies the Father’s demands for jusitice. But these sayings of the Bible were never written by the persons to whom they are ascribed, but by writers who, in their various translations and alleged reproductions of these writings, added to and eliminated from the original writings until the Bible became filled with these false doctrines and teachings.
“The writers of the Bible as it now stands were persons who belonged to the church which was nationalized at the time of Constantine. He had imposed upon them the duty of writing such ideas as the rulers of that church conceived should be incorporated into the Bible for the purpose of carrying out their plans, in order to subserve the interests of the church and give it such temporal power as it never could have had under the teachings and guidance of the pure doctrines of the Master.
“For nearly 2000 years this false doctrine of the atonement has been believed and accepted by Christian churches, and has been promulgated by these churches as the true doctrine of Jesus and the one upon which salvation depends.
“If human beings only knew how futile Jesus’ death was and how ineffectacious his blood is to wash away sin and pay a debt to God, they would not rest in the assurance that all they have to do is believe in that sacrifice and blood, but would learn the true plan of salvation and make every effort to follow that plan, and as a consequence, have their soul come into harmony with the Father’s Love and laws.”
Our beloved Luke who was, and is still, a follower of Jesus’ teachings, is still working from the Celestial Heavens, as are many Celestial angels, including our Brother in Christ, Jesus, and striving to help humankind learn the Way to God’s Kingdom of Love, through prayers for Divine love and Mercy. Amen
